I need to replace a Yale Ogron handle/pull/lock for a sliding glass patio door, approx 30 yr old; please help!

The pull is flush mounted with a rotating cam type lock. The thumb lever used to open the cam, inorder to slide the door, is broken and I'm missing a key. WR Hardare and Replacement Hardware in FL were of no help; any other sources would be appreciated.

replace the whole door with a new energy efficiant double pane gas filled. door. or screw a simple type handle like on a cabinet on there and install a latch type lock and i dunno

Which is a better telescope? 8'' Bushnell or a 6'' Celestron?

Out of the two which is a better all around telescope

The 8" will gather more light and provide marginally better images. However it is the margins that divide "almost can see" from "can see just see". With an 8" I can see the Ring Nebula as a ring, with a 6" I have not been able to.

The 6" will probably be easier to get out and put away, so you will be more likely to get it out.

You probably want to consider whether you will be doing the setup solo or with help.

I have a Meade LXD55 SN8, I picked that one because it was the biggest scope I could handle alone. I decided against a Dobsonian as that would prevent using a camera; the image rotates without a equatorial mount. A camera provides about 2 magnitudes fainter objects and better color than with the eye. (but then you weren't asking regarding the mount).

what is the point of the primary mirror in a Newtonian telescope?

and why does it need to be collimated if the secondary mirror is aligned?

The primary mirror does two things. It captures light from the object you're viewing - the bigger it is the more light it collects and the better the resolution - and it focuses it to form a real image. The image is then magnified with an eyepiece. The secondary needs to be positioned so that the image is formed in the centre of the focuser, and the primary is positioned so that the cone of light from it falls exactly on the secondary.
